:-P(Of course he just means slow down a bit) You mean I not Superwoman?! NO WAY!!!!!!
Watch out for gorillas.....
http://viscog.beckman.uiuc.edu/grafs/demos/15.html
Yeah, it's 14. So who saw the gorilla walk through the middle of the group of basketball players? hahahaha. Watch again. Weird, huh?!
So dumb. This is what our Med/ Surg professor had us do last night in the middle of our class. Except, somehow we must have missed the punch line cuz we have NO idea what the point of watching that video was. Sometimes I think I'm paying WAY too much to go to nursing school. It's almost as freaking expensive as Med. School. What did you learn today? Um, well I watched a video with a gorilla in it, lol. Good grief. This was just the end to a VERY interesting day. It started out with breast and testicular assessments. Uh, yeah. As if that's not already an awkward enough subject, someone in our class, who I will leave unnamed for the sake of sensitivity of the subject, felt the need to share her very personal problems in that area. I believe that conversation started with the statement "back when i had a lump in my breast." Ahhhhhh.....we DON'T want to hear about it in the middle of our lecture, thank you very much. Unfortunately, she proceeded to describe in detail, the problem. Good thing I was at the back of the class, because I'm pretty sure my mouth actually dropped open and I may have actually gasped. The rest of the day just got worse from there. I won't go into detail, but it involved watching a rather graphic video of breast exams and doing female reproductive system. Don't get me wrong, I've done all of this before in many other classes and I can be professional, none of it even fazes me anymore I've been around it too long. But, I've never been in classes where people have felt the need to share the intimate details of their personal lives. I think my poor professors are ready to kill the same students I'm ready to kill.
At least there were some entertaining moments, such as when we decided the point of watching the video was to "watch out for the gorilla." Yeah, cuz I'm sure I'm gonna get attacked by one walking down the road here. Then, this picture that my teacher felt the need to include in our PowerPoint slides. I have NO idea why, again.

But the comments about this picture were pretty classic. Like, "he probably did that when company was over." lol, yup I bet he did. My favorite was, "he's probably a musician." LOL, I love it. We're constantly being told risk factors for diseases in our classes as well. Smoking is constantly pounded into us as being really bad, as is obesity. The comment that one of my classmates said about that one was, "I tell you being fat just isn't good." hahahaha, nope it's not. Unfortunately, we were talking about the increased risk of breast cancer with obesity. Yeah, we're morbid at times, sorry. Maybe it's like we said last week after our End of Life Care lecture
sometimes we joke about really morbid things because that's how we cope with really difficult things. If you don't laugh, you'll cry. I learned that quickly while working on the Medical/ Oncology Floor (cancer) for a year and a half. Learning to balance emotions, getting attached vs. being too cold with your patients, being empathetic, and people skills are all things that took years of practice, mistakes, etc. to get down. I will continue to learn those things for the rest of my life. But that's a blog for another day. In the meantime, watch out for gorillas. :)

Rachael Sage - Jane's Dimitri (live)
Grrrr....OK, so this post actually goes with the YouTube video several posts above it that's got the same title "Rachael Sage- Jane's Dimitri (live)." It was fine and then I broke it, obviously. Once you post a video you apparently can't edit....boooo. Or I'm too dumb to figure it out, and I have no time to do it right now. Nevermind. Blah.
I'm not normally this serious, but today I was a bit contemplative on what I'm doing with my life or more like what I have to look forward to right now in my life aka almost nothing. This song exemplifies what I think is one of our biggest fears..."the moment that she realized she'd already had the love of her life it was 50 years and 5 minutes too late." Is that a depressing thought? Yes, but it's honest. Do I think it's really true in my life? Probably not, but at one time I did think it was true. That's what painful relationships do to ya. This somewhat crappy video cuts off the song, but the rest of the lyrics are interesting as well. She moves on with her life in the song "she stopped crying after 12 months, she stopped writing after 6." We all move on, but every relationship we have leaves it's imprint on us....hopefully one will actually work eventually. Relationships are hard work though, especially marriage. But we all like to hold onto our fairytales, I mean what girl doesn't want a guy to "follow[ed] her halfway across the earth..."? Don't get any ideas...I'm NOT ready to get married right at the moment. That would actually require me to be more than just every guy's best friend, ha, yeah right. According to Terrell, I'm not dateable, the punk :P. Well it's easier to just beat the guy up than to date him, if you ask me. Uh, I mean...ok, not always. But in my opinion most of the guys I know need to be thrown in a ditch. Of course with my luck, I'd probably get pulled in after them. Go figure. Of course that doesn't necessarily have to end badly for either of us, but most guys are too dense to figure out the rest of that scenario without completely botching it. Man I'm a tease. ;) Oh well, I'm good at it and it's fun. Fairytales don't exist. No one will ever follow me halfway around the earth. Pain is real, but so is joy. So in the meantime....I'm supposed to be writing a paper, BOOORING and I'd rather be throwing a guy or two that I know in a ditch...I guess I'll just have to dream about it instead. :)
P.S. When I said I like random/ everything music I really wasn't kidding....just look at my playlist on Myspace. I love stealing other people's music too, so share with me....um, please.

OneRepublic "Apologize"
One of my new favorite bands...they don't even have a CD out yet, but they're sweet :-). Check it out.
I got picked up by a guy...literally!!
Ok, here's the background….a month or so ago, my roommate posted a picture of me and my car on facebook. I did an awesome parallel parking job that I was really proud of (in all honestly I have to admit it wasn't that great, but whatever, we just like taking pictures and I LOVE that car), so she took a picture, of course. Well, she tagged her friend, Shane in the picture because she had a similar picture of his parking job of her car in the same place from a long time ago. So the tag line on the pic. was, "Jennie parked perfect too. She wanted to have this rival Shane's parking job in the same spot in front of our house." So, I commented under the pic. "YAY for Black Beauty!" That's my car's name (yeah, she's hot and I look hot in her ).
I got back to DC on a Saturday night and my roommate told me she'd come get me because my brother bailed on me like the day before, lamesauce. So I went out on the curb to wait for Lex cuz she told me to call her when I landed cuz that's about when she needed to leave our house to get to the airport in time. Well a bunch of people from my plane and I were waiting, in the rain, imagine that in DC, haha. No offense to my roommate she was taking forever to get there, it probably only felt like that cuz I was exhausted. Come to find out later, they got lost in DC, and probably got a speeding ticket as well, I guess we'll find out if her parents get one in the mail. Oops So they finally pulled up and my roommate got out of the passenger side of her car which totally confused me, but she came flying at me and gave me a big hug and said she me missed me. I feel loved. I was too tired at this point to figure out why she wasn't driving, nor did I have the time to figure it out because the next thing I know Lex grabs my suitcase and all I see is Shane (who I recognized from pictures) come flying around the back of the car and come running at me. I didn't have time to react before he came around me and picked me up and carried me all the way to the car and threw me in the back seat. All the way I'm screaming/ laughing, "I don't even know you…put me down!!!" Apparently the people's expressions on the curb were priceless, my roommate was really sad they didn't have a video camera. I was glad she came and gave me a hug first otherwise those poor people would have thought I was being abducted. LOL….It was classic though. I literally got "picked up" from the airport. Nice first impression, huh?! So he proceeded for the rest of the night to try to kill me.
(Attempt #1- I'm trapping his hand right here to keep him from killing me with it). He found out about my sunburn later, good thing he didn't pick me up higher, besides the fact that that would have been awkward. Well, more awkward than it already was. Haha I might have killed him on the spot. I seriously radiated heat and was flamingly red. Yeah, I rock. It made for some interesting outfits for me for the next week or so. I didn't want to be touched though, much less wrestling with someone who wants to kill me, lovely.
(This is like attempt #145 at the end of the night, he might have suceeded this time, but he reached through the headrest, duh). Luckily, Corey wasn't home, so I didn't have to deal with 2 guys trying to kill me in the same night, at least not that night. The next night, on the other hand, I was not so lucky. Shane, Corey, and I in a room is hazardous to my health.
(Ok, maybe it wasn't all verbal. This may or may not have been a picture in the middle of a pillow fight). Anyways…that's the story. We're both still alive and we live in different states, so it's all ok, at least until he comes to town again, j/k Shane…you know I like you, ok maybe not like, but tolerate. Only good friends get to see the Numa Numa Dance afterall, and you freakin' recorded it. BOOOO….that's blackmail, buddy (especially since I'm pretty sure I'm dressed like a skank in it, lovely). By the way, I am NOT putting the one from Lex's bday on YouTube no matter how badly Lex wants that other pic. off of Facebook.I Am Dr. Pepper....
(So this is from my Myspace page, and yes, it's supposed to be funny, don't take it too seriously. This happened a while ago).
So this little blog is about me. You're probably bored already. I have an, um, serious attraction to Dr. Pepper. I'm not addicted or anything, I just really like the stuff.
I tend to be a pretty aggressive person. I grew up with three older brothers. It was essential to my survival to learn to be aggressive. I don't think I would have made it through childhood with brothers if I hadn't learned how to be aggressive (note: that grammar sounds funny, the caffeine from earlier today is wearing off, I'm really, really tired, oh well). Well, yesterday my friend and I had a discussion in which she compared me to Dr. Pepper. She said, I'm "like an extra shot of caffeine in life, [I] need to be taken responsibly. [I am] like extra strength Dr. Pepper." Let me translate...I'm really aggressive and intense. Most guys can't handle me. I tend to bait, argue with, and tease guys just to see if they can keep up with me. I like a challenge, it makes life interesting. Most of them can't. I have found a few (very few) who actually have been able to keep up with me, and I've been impressed. There are a few guys I'm still testing. We'll see how they do. Good luck to them, they're going to need it. Of course, if they pass the test, the rewards are endless…
Apparently, I need a warning label on me. In today's discussion, my friend said referring to me, "don't drink before driving or any strenuous activity." ;-) I'm definitely not for the faint of heart. Oh, and If you do choose to drink, "drink responsibly." Can you handle me?!
P.S. No, I'm still not drinking coffee or alcohol. I haven't changed that much, friends.
